Our Story

Jay Johnson AIA & Associates  has been serving commercial and residential  clients in Southern California since 1985. His designs are tailored to the  clients’ needs and value engineered to maximize aesthetics, floor area and  quality construction.  Mr. Johnson has a  strong background with energy conservation and green building design.  He has designed  award winning commercial projects such as the  new Spirit Honda auto dealership in El Monte and the International Market Place  at the Los Angeles Zoo.  Other projects include   office buildings and  specialty   restaurants.

His custom home designs range from traditional to  contemporary styles with a current emphasis on Italian, Tuscan and Country  French architecture.  He is well known  for his mansions but respected for the same care he gives clients of more  modest homes.  He specializes in second  floor addition projects where the architecture is seamless in appearance  between the existing home and new addition.  Johnson’s homes incorporate the latest  technological conveniences to create the ultimate modern living and working  experience.  Each estate is custom  designed then crafted with finest architectural details, materials and  workmanship.  The end result is a truly  unique home that provides fine living, convenience and complete enjoyment for  its owners.

Jay Johnson has served for over 10 years as a city design  commissioner in La Canada Flintridge. He thoroughly understands the complex  planning and building permitting process.
